Dolores Congelli Kelley, 95, Alfred

Dolores Congelli Kelley, 95, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.  She was born November 14, 1930 in Hornell to Beatrice Matera and Nicholas Congelli, where she lived until 1970 when she married and moved to Alfred, NY.

She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Robert C. Kelly, as well as her parents, two sisters and seven brothers.  She is survived by her sister, Rosemary McCormack (Tom), sister-in-law Linda Congelli of Lockport, NY, and several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Dolores graduated in the class of 1949 from Hornell High School.  As a member of the HHS Alumni Association, Dolores was a regular participant and contributor.  While employed at Alfred University for 37 years, she served as secretary to the Dean of Men, and the Director of Admissions, as well as private secretary to the University Registar, and finally Administrative Assistant to the Provost.  She was honored by the Hornell chapter of the National Secretary Association as Secretary of the Year in 1976.

Dolores and her husband owned and operated Century House Antiques for 27 years and spent many weekends selling antiques at various antique shows on the east coast. When not attending antique shows, they were in Beaver Stadium cheering on their beloved Penn State Nittany Lions and, as loyal and fervent fans at home, they were huddled by the TV cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Ann’s – Hornell, August 4, 2026 at 10:00am

Friends and Family are invited to a Celebration of Life for Dolores will be held at Lighthouse – Alfred, August 18, 2026 at 6pm.

Memorials made in Dolores name are appreciated, made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
