The Four County Library System joins the Libby app network

From the Southern Tier Library System,

Southern Tier Library System (STLS), Finger Lakes Library System (FLLS), and OWWL Library System are excited to announce an expanded partnership to increase access to digital collections which now includes Four County Library System (4CLS).

In 2022, STLS, FLLS, and OWWL library systems joined together to share access to titles in their digital collections. The partnership began as a way to fight against disadvantageous ebook and audiobook lending models, with the goal of helping to meet increasing demand for digital content. The partnership expands access and reduces wait times for digital content. All three library systems were surprised to learn that there was limited overlap between titles in each collection, meaning library users would have access to a truly expanded selection of titles.

Patrons have been able to enjoy titles from all three library systems conveniently in the Libby app without having to open a new library card. With 4CLS joining the partnership, patrons will have access to even more titles from across the 18 counties in the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and South Central New York.

Steven J. Bachman, Executive Director of Four County Library System says,

“The Four County Library System is tremendously excited about this program to share digital resources for the benefit of library patrons across our four counties and a wide swath of Upstate NY. It is a shining example of how libraries and systems can work together to increase access for all.”

Cardholders in the Southern Tier Library System can visit stls.libguides.com/digitalresources/AddLibrariesInLibby to learn more about this partnership and how to access digital collections in the Libby app.
