City of Corning Police Chief Jeff Spaulding will proceed to general election
Michael T. Baldwin reports,
The Steuben County Board of Elections says there will be no primary election for the Office of County Coroner. Elections officials this week invalidated the nominating petition for Mark Resue after a review found 291 invalid signatures.
The other Republican coroner candidate—and current Corning City Police Chief—Jeff Spaulding filed an objection on April 8 to challenge the signatures on Resue’s petition. Spaulding, meanwhile, turned in 1,500 signatures for his candidacy…all were deemed valid and were unopposed. According to WETM, Spaulding announced his campaign in February. He said that should he win the position, he will retire as Corning City Police Chief.
