The Arc Allegany-Steuben is a Chapter of The Arc New York, Member of the Arc of the United States. The massive non-profit provides direct-care services for the developmentally disabled population. The “Arc,” also offers vital programs to the communities they serve, employing hundreds who work at many local businesses.

Both the professionals who work for the Arc, and the clients who participate in work programs all over Steuben county, have both survived and thrived during the pandemic. Associate Director Carrie Redman has nothing but praise for the entire Arc team:

“We have an absolutely amazing staff, throughout the challenges of Covid-19 they have shown such dedication to the work we do. From our managers to our life coaches to our residential direct-care staff: The Arc is full of amazing people in every part of the organization who have continued to care for each other and our clients at such a high level.”

Redman explains that like almost every business and non-profit organization in the nation, the Arc is coping with a staffing crisis. Currently the Arc has dozens of openings in both Allegany and Steuben counties.
