A fire Tuesday evening destroyed the Howell family home on Taylor Street in Canisteo.
The residents were not injured according to early reports from the scene.
The family is concerned a family pet died in the fire.
Firefighters from Canisteo, North Hornell and Greenwood were on the scene along with the ambulance.
No other information was available as it is an active fire scene and investigation into the cause.
