The Hornell Steamers played big roles as the Western Division earned a 3-2 walk-off win over the Eastern Division on Monday afternoon.

Colton Burd (Indiana U of PA) was 2 for 2 en route to being the MVP of the game. He doubled in his first at bat and then hit a game-tying infield single in the 9th. He later scored the winning run when Steamer teammate Paxton Hughes (Trevecca Nazarene) hit the game-winning single.

Peyton Johnson (Indiana U of PA) was named the defensive player of the game. He made a diving play at third base to keep the Eastern Division off the board.

Brody Burdett (Alfred State) pitched the 9th and earned the victory. He allowed one hit and struck out one.

Bryson Rigsby (Webster) played the second half of the game and made an outstanding diving catch in right field.

Jordyn Smith (Oklahoma Wesleyan) participated in the pre-game workout. His exit velocity of over 106 mph gave the Western Division home field advantage for the game.

Hornell is back in NYCBL action on Wednesday when they host Dansville at 7 p.m.
