On September 2, 2022, New York State Police were very clear with this press release headline: “State Police to crack down on impaired and reckless driving this Labor Day weekend.” However, motorists allegedly drove intoxicated just the same.
In Steuben County, Bath-based state police arrested a male, 46, of Savona. He was also charged during a stop in Bath with driving while intoxicated.
In an unrelated non-drinking arrest, Troopers from the Bath barracks arrested Matthew Bailer, 31, of Prattsburgh. He was charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property valued over $3,000. He was initially detained.
Shifting to Allegany County, Saturday night at 9:22 p.m., state police pulled over a male, 27 of Belfast, while traveling in Rushford. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated as well as DWI-first offense.
Meanwhile in Bolivar, Sunday at 12:08 a.m. Troopers arrested a female of Cuba for DWI and having a blood alcohol content greater than .08%.
Advance the clock another hour and state police arrested a male, 35 of Wellsville during a personal injury crash in the Town of Willing. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated.
