Congressman Joe Sempolinski spoke at the Education and Labor Committee Hearing last week. The hearing can be found here. (Joe’s response to subcommittee appointment at minute 1:05, his response to lack of transparency over school loan forgiveness at hour 1:02:15, and his response to lack of transparency regarding covid-related school closings at hour 1:47:45)
Joe said the following regarding today’s hearing.
“We must have transparency from this administration. The American people demand answers, and I will not stand idly by as they are ignored. The collusion between the CDC and the American Teachers Federation to keep our schools closed has caused irreparable harm to our children. That is why we demand this administration release all the documents pertaining to this disastrous decision,” said Sempolinski. “I am also standing with the hardworking taxpayers of this country that want to know the truth behind the supposed school loan forgiveness. This executive order will only exacerbate the inflation crisis and take more money from the pockets of everyday Americans. We need answers from this administration now.”
During the hearing, Joe was appointed to the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee. Joe said the following regarding his appointment.
“I am proud to be appointed to this subcommittee and look forward to the work ahead. No parent should be attacked for wanting to do what is best for their child. I will be a voice for these parents in this subcommittee and will fight for their right to have a say in their children’s education,” said Sempolinski. “We must also combat the harmful effects that the covid lockdowns had on our children. That is why our work on this subcommittee is more important than ever.”
Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) said the following regarding Joe’s appointment to the subcommittee.
“Rep. Sempolinski’s previous work as a Congressional staffer demonstrates his professional know-how and commitment to upholding our country’s founding principles. As a member of the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee, he will have the opportunity to fight for local control of schools, parental rights, and increased oversight of the Department of Education. Rep. Sempolinski was made for this fight and will thrive on the Education and Labor Committee.” -Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC)
