Hornell Elks Lodge 364 – Community Baby Shower set for October 1

Author: Share:

Hornell, NY 9/21/22 — The Hornell Elks Lodge 364 is excited to announce our first Community Baby Shower that will take place on October 1, 2022 at the Hornell VFW at 245 Canisteo Street from Noon to 3:00 PM. Additionally, activities will be taking place at two other locations at the same time, right across the street at the Hornell Pregnancy Resource Center of the Valley’s &  New Hope Community Center both located at 282 Canisteo Street, snacks, activities and tours of the facility and information about the locations will be provided.

Our aim is to create an annual program to address the issues created by poverty that affect many of the pregnant and new mothers/fathers/caregivers with children up to the age of five in our community. This event will help provide much needed resources such as Educational Material, Newborn Baby Essentials, Educational Toys/Books and Healthy Lifestyle Programs to our large under-resourced community where the need for infant and toddler supplies is high. Below you will find statistics that show why we feel holding this free event is vital to the community and a list of items we are looking to have donated from various businesses across a 50-mile radius.

Those who attend will receive information on Fidelis Care, Prenatal Care, Pediatricians, Day Care Centers, Schools, WIC, Car & Bike Safety, Parenting Classes, Literacy Programs, State & Local Programs & much more!  We hope to get information out to the community on all the services offered in the surrounding area.  We have representatives from Steuben, Livingston, and Allegany counties.

All caregivers are welcome… moms, dads, and guardians! Walk-ins are welcome, but if possible please register at: https://signup.com/go/rqcDzyV

Any businesses that would like to join us (for free), please email us your point of contact, and phone number at Horenllcommunitybabyshower@gmail.com; an Elks Member will get back to you to collect your set up information.  Each business/community partner who sets up will receive one table and two chairs at one of the locations.

Anyone who would like to provide a physical donation/gift basket etc. can drop them off at either the Hornell Elks Lodge at 60 Broadway Mall or the Hornell VFW, just let them know that it is for the community baby shower, please be sure to you leave your name and number with any donations.
