Deputies make a wild DWI and a domestic violence arrest

October 9, 2022 DWI/Crash/Leaving the Scene Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on October 9, 2022, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested John F. Wright, age 42, of State Route 415, Bath, New York, following an investigation of a one vehicle crash, reported vehicle into a utility pole, on Mitchellsville Hill Road, Urbana, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Wright operated a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition, left the roadway, crashed into a utility pole causing injury to a passenger, then fled the scene to be later apprehended by the Hammondsport Village Police. Mr. Wright was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Leaving the Scene of a Crash. Mr. Wright was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.

October 14, 2022 Assault, Criminal Mischief Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on October 13, 2022, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a male, age 19, of State Route 415, Avoca, New York, following an investigation of a reported assault and domestic incident in Avoca, New York. It is alleged that he struck two victims causing injury and damaged property. The accused was charged with two counts of Assault in the Third Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree. He was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
