The Village of Bath Police Department investigated Anthony Kroeger, a 62-year-old, level 3 sex offender, residing at 3 E. William St, in the Village of Bath, for (allegedly) taking a 14-year-old out of state for 2 days without his parents consent and he was unknown to the parents. Anthony was also with two other 17-year-old students from Bath as well. Mr. Kroeger, a five-time convicted felon, just finished his parole after serving a 4-11 year sentence for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old male. With the assistance of our 911 center and the New York State Police Investigator assigned to their Amber Alert hotline, Mr. Kroeger was taken into custody in Washington, DC. The children are safe in the hands of local child protective services until parents come to get them. Mr. Kroeger will go through the extradition process and be charged with Kidnapping 2nd Degree, a violent class B felony. Several Bath PD officers worked 17-19 hours to assist with ensuring the children were found safe.
