An election, establishing a capital reserve account, and increasing taxes

Notice of Ambulance District Commissioner Election

The Town of Cohocton Ambulance District is accepting letters of intent to be placed on the Ballot for the Ambulance Board of Commissioners. There are (2) positions available. Letters should be received at PO Box 200 Atlanta, NY 14808 or 19 Main St. Atlanta, NY 14808 by December 7, 2022. The Election will be held on December 15, 2022 at the Village Hall 17 Main St. Cohocton, NY 14826 from 6PM to 8PM.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Cohocton Fire District will take place on December 13, 2022 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Cohocton Fire Department Firehouse located at 43 Maple Avenue, Cohocton, New York for the purpose of approving the following Proposition, pursuant to the Resolutions of the Board of Fire Commissioners approved on November 3, 2022 authorizing the establishment of certain capital reserve accounts which shall be submitted to qualified voters of the Cohocton Fire District for approval:

Shall the Cohocton Fire District establish an “Apparatus Repair and Replacement Capital Reserve Account” for the purpose of accumulating the capital reserves of the Fire District in order to maintain, repair, improve and replace the apparatus and motor vehicles of the Fire District, establish an “Equipment Repair and Replacement Capital Reserve Account” for the purpose of accumulating the capital reserves of the Fire District in order to maintain, repair, improve and replace the equipment of the Fire District, establish a “Building Repair and Replacement Capital Reserve Account” for the purpose of accumulating the capital reserves of the Fire District in order to maintain, repair, improve and replace the buildings and grounds of the Fire District, and establish a Repair Reserve Fund pursuant to General Municipal Law 6-d for the purpose of accumulating the reserves of the Fire District for the purpose of maintaining the operations of the Fire District as required by law. Any elector of the Cohocton Fire District who shall be registered voter with the Steuben County Board of Elections on or prior to November 21, 2022 and who shall have resided in the Cohocton Fire District for at least thirty days preceding such election shall be qualified to vote.

Hornellsville hearing to override tax levy limit set for 2023

The Town of Hornellsville will be holding a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 6:00 pm regarding Local Law #2-2022 Override the Tax Levy Limit for Fiscal Year 2023, at the Town Hall at 4 Park Avenue in Arkport.
