Avoca/Prattsburgh behind 30 points from senior Haden Abbott defeated Wayland-Cohocton, 88-21 Tuesday night.
A-P used a stifling full court press to create several turnovers early in the first quarter and they led to points on the other end helping them jump out to 23-9 lead with 2:29 remaining in the first quarter. A-P ended the quarter on a 8-0 run to lead 31-9 at the end of the first quarter.
Seniors Haden Abbott and Sawyer Devoe and Junior Macoy Putnam dominated in the first half leading A-P to a 50-14 lead at Halftime.
Abbott scored 19 of his game high 30 points in the first half. He left the game with three minutes remaining in the third quarter.
A-P led 72-16 after three quarters of play and cruised to a 88-21 victory victory and a spot in the Tournament Championship game versus Bath Wednesday night at 7 p.m. back at The Marv Skillman Gymnasium in Avoca.
Abbott added 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Putnam finished with 10 points, 10 Assists and 7 rebounds. Devoe scored 16 points. Senior guard Evan Campbell added 11 points.
Freshman Dayton Putman came off the bench and scored 7 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Junior Collin Hammond scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds off the bench.
