Hornell YMCA pool closed, boiler repairs unsuccessful

A new boiler will be installed in about three weeks

Dansville YMCA pool is open to members during downtime

To our members and community members:

Our Hornell pool will be closed for approximately three weeks until a new boiler is installed for the pool heating system. The new unit was ordered several months ago when we realized we were reaching the end of our current unit’s lifespan, but as with many things these days, there was an extended manufacture time. The pool service technicians attempted a repair this week to put part of the boiler into service, but were unsuccessful. We don’t have a firm date yet for installation of the new boiler, but the pool technicians estimate the end of February and are making us a top priority. While our pool is closed, we will perform annual maintenance and deep-cleaning of the pool and deck.

We invite our members to use the Dansville YMCA pool hours at the Dansville Central School including open swim 7 days a week and Aqua Zumba on Monday evenings at 6:00. The pool schedule can be found on our website at www.hornellymca.com/DansvilleSchedules

In addition, we welcome our open swim and water fitness class participants to our fitness center and group fitness classes to meet your needs. Fitness class schedules are available at the Y or on our website. Gentle Joints participants may find that Gentle Yoga, Active Life, and Tai Chi meet their needs. Lunch Crunch and Aqua Zumba participants may enjoy spin classes, Zumba, Body Blast, and other classes.

We are grateful to the Hornell City School District for hosting tonight’s lifeguarding class and to our members and community members for your understanding.

We will provide schedule updates via direct contact with class and swim lesson participants and through our social media as soon as we learn more. If you have questions, please contact our front desk at 607-324-5520
