Sheriff: Man throws passenger from vehicle, runs passenger over before fleeing

March 23, 2023 Assault and Reckless Endangerment Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on March 21, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nicholas O. Green, age 28, of Holly Terrace, Hornell, New York, following a report of a person being kicked out of another person’s car and then run over on Longwell Lane, Urbana. It is alleged that Mr. Green operated a motor vehicle on Longwell Lane and intentionally discharged the passenger from the vehicle. It is further alleged that when Mr. Green drove away from the scene, the vehicle collided with the former occupant, causing injury. Mr. Green and his vehicle were located a short time later by the Canisteo Police Department. Mr. Green was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Felony, and Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree. Mr. Green was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
