Hornell baseball opens season with 10-0 win over Bath; Dansville downs Livonia; Way-Co, Avoca-Prattsburgh win

The Hornell Baseball team got their season off to a good start defeating Bath 10-0. 

Gates Miller threw a five-inning no-hitter. 

For Hornell, Davin Oyer and Gates Miller each went 2-for-4 and Wyatt Argentieri went 1-for-3 with a triple. 

Hornell plays Wayland Cohocton Thursday.  

Dansville 9, Livonia 6

Alex Schuster’s 3-RBI single in the fourth helped to key Dansville over Livonia, 9-6.

connected on a three-run single as part of a five-run fourth inning as Dansville won its home opener. Reid Martin hit a home run, had three hits and pitched into the fourth inning for Dansville (1-0.

Aiden Ziefel had a RBI single while Mason Mann had two hits and scored three times.

Livonia is 1-3.

Wayland-Cohocton 4, LeRoy 2 (8)

Mike Gammell threw a 3-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead Way-Co (2-0).

Ethan Loop had three hits and Markus Brehm had two hits.

Avoca-Prattsburgh 15, Keshequa 1

Haden Abbott tossed a complete game 3-hitter to improve his record to 3-0 on the season and A-P improved to 5-0 with a 15-1 win over Keshequa.

Avoca-Prattsburgh broke open a close game with a seven-run fourth inning.

Abbott also blasted a double and stole three bases, Macoy Putnam had a home run, 4 RBI’s and three stolen bases while Sawyer Devoe belted two soubles. Connor Hammond had two hits while Jamel Crowder, Dan Stilson and Chris Abbott had hits. Josiah Stilson had three walks, stole a base and scored twice.

A-P is at Arkport-Canaseraga today. Arkport-Canaseraga beat Hammondsport, 17-1 on Tuesday.
