Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on April 25, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sara L. Truesdell, age 38, of Church Street, Woodhull, New York, following an investigation of reported dogs running at large and in need of sustenance and care. It is alleged that Ms. Truesdell owned two dogs which were not receiving adequate food or care. Mr. Truesdell was charged with Torturing/Not Feeding a Domestic Animal. Ms. Truesdell was released on an Appearance Ticket to return to Woodhull Town Court at a later date.

Sheriff Allard thanks the Woodhull Dog Control Officer and the Finger Lakes SPCA for their assistance in this investigation.

Remember, reporting animal cruelty is everyone’s business. If you know of a domestic animal that is being maltreated and in need of aid, please report it to your local law enforcement or by calling 911.
