Canisteo Police make major narcotics arrest

Multiple felony charges after brief foot chase

After investigating drug sales in the Canisteo area, police made a targeted traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of Zachery Savage of Pine City NY. After being pulled over on Russell Street in the village of Canisteo, Savage fled the vehicle and attempted to evade arrest.

Once the CPD caught up with Savage in a backyard it was clear why he tried to escape and resisted being arrested. Police found a supply of narcotics and lots of cash on Savage, who was already on probation.

The accused was charged with three felonies and one misdemeanor. The man was taken to the Steuben County Jail. Read the full report from Canisteo Chief of Police Kyle Amidon:
