Summer road work details, “cannabis can not be sold without a license”

By Alfred Town Supervisor Dan Acton,

The board had a light agenda when it convened its monthly meeting at the town building. The first topic to come up was the new smoke shop located in the former Way to Grow building. The supervisor reported that two product lines will be sold there. One is tobacco for which the owner has a state license; the other is cannabis for which the owner does not have a license. We are informed that a license has been applied for but not received. The town made it clear to the owner that cannabis can not be sold without a license.

Next up was discussion about summer road work. Our highway superintendent said that this summer the highway crew would be top coating Davis, Snyder, Oak Ridge, Maple, and East Valley from Burdick to Green Roads.

The board approved payment of routine bills and then adjourned the meeting.
