The Hornell Red Raiders came out on top of a hard-fought game against the Addison Knights in the Maple City Monday night. Scoreless at the half, Hornell’s Jack Emo found the net with about 13 minutes remaining in the game. Hornell coach Jim Tobin stated, “Offensively, Jack Emo tallied the game winner, and he was helped all night by his midfielders, Wyatt Evingham, Marco Picco, PJ Picco, and Demayne Dixon. Our bench played a big role in the win.”
Hornell’s offense accumulated 21 shots on goal while the defense held Addison to just 6 shots total. “Our defense was super,” commented Tobin. “Senior Gennaro Picco anchoring the defense, Andrew Davis, Ryan Harkenrider, and Cody Cardamone all played a big role in the shutout. Sophomore Alfie Whiteley filled in as our goalie and played well.” Whiteley had two saves and a block on the night.
