The Hornell Red Raiders swim team not only had a special night honoring seniors Kaela Briggs and Gabriella Passero this week, but a record-setting one as well.

The Red Raiders swim team under the guidance of coach James “Jimmy” Welch, turned out 30 personal bests in the matchup with Wayland-Cohocton.

How good was the team? Welch lost track of how many personal bests the team put together while tallying results for this report!

“I am extremely proud of how these girls have progressed throughout the season. We had 30 personal best swims, many of them lifetime fastest. You cannot get mad about that,” Welch said. “These girls are believing in their training and their abilities. I cannot wait to see what they can accomplish for the rest of the season.”

And of course, there was the senior night (see story and photos by Steve Harrison HERE)

“To top it off, we honored the two seniors who have given everything that I have asked them to do,” Welch added. “I am grateful for their leadership and heart.”
