Dansville girls battle back against Geneseo

GENESEO – Visiting Dansville battled back from a 2-0 deficit with two second half goals to come away with the hard-fought 2-2 tie against Geneseo in LCAA crossover action Monday.

Geneseo led 2-0 with 22 minutes remaining in regulation.

Dansville’s Baylee Hayes scored off an Emma Allen corner kick to open up the scoring for the Mustangs and make it a 2-1 game.

A few minutes later, Dansville’s Chelsie Tyler scored off another corner kick and deflection from Aynsley Belcher to knot the game at 2-2.

Dansville keeper Emma Butters posted nine saves in net for the Lady Mustangs.

“I am extremely proud of the way the girls battled back tonight and never quit against a very good Geneseo team, especially with this being our third OT game in our last four outings,” Dansville coach Arin Belden said.

Maddie Mark and Madi Ladelpha both scored for Geneseo.

Mark’s tally came at the 45th minute while Ladelpha netted her goal four minutes later.

Ladelpha and Olivia Bucci both had assists for the Lady Devils while Caroline Capel made eight saves in goal.

Geneseo is 9-2-1 while Dansville moved to 7-1-3 on the year. 

Dansville visits Bath Haverling Wednesday night.
