On Sunday, October 8th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a Renaissance Festival is planned at the Alfred Farmers Market in front of the Alfred University bandstand at the corner of  Main Street and Saxon Drive.

Dog Doctors Food Truck will be on-site selling hot dogs, sausages, burgers, and sides.  Chris Beck is doing a blacksmithing forge demonstration.  SCA from Alfred University will be providing entertainment with knightly combat. Flutist, Alexis Suzano, from Wellsville will be playing period music. Games and face painting will be available for the children.

Regular vendors will be on-site selling their wares. It is a good time to stock up on potatoes, onions, carrots, squash, meat, syrups, ferments, Mead, and honey for the winter months ahead.  It is also a good time to buy fresh bread, baked goods, flowers, and fresh produce to enjoy now.

It is not too early to start your holiday shopping.  Handmade jewelry, goat’s milk soap and lotion, jams, syrups, hand-crafted items, and alpaca products make great gifts.

Dress up in period costumes and enjoy the fun.  Stop by the Manager’s Tent to take a chance on the weekly raffle that supports the market musicians. This is a great way to kick off Autumn and support your local farmers and artisans.
