From Steuben County,
BATH – Safety is important to Steuben County residents — and uppermost in the minds of older residents and those who love them.
Information on how best to prepare – what to do and how to do it — is the focus of the Senior Safety Showcase set for 1-4 pm, Oct. 26 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Bath.
The showcase will feature informative presentations, and with local supportive agencies available to discuss how older residents can stay safely at home.
The safety showcase is one of two safety presentations at the church the afternoon of Oct. 26 – with special guests presenting New York Citizen Preparedness Training Program at 2 pm.
The training program will provide an introduction into how residents of all ages can respond to any natural or man-made disaster.
Other information at the presentation includes developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies. Each family that attends will receive one preparedness kit.
The events are sponsored by the county TRIAD, Office For the Aging, RSVP/Steuben Senior AmeriCorps and Centenary United Methodist Church.
