LCAA’S FINEST
GREIGSVILLE – Watch out for the blue and white come post-season time.
Both the girls and boys.
Maddie Mark and Lili Weber each scored goals as the visiting Geneseo girls blanked York/Pavilion 2-0 Thursday in LCAA action.
Mark scored at the 14-minute mark of the first half while Weber nailed a free kick at the 65-minute mark of the second half.
Geneseo keeper Caroline Capel posted the clean sheet with three saves.
York keeper Ella Conway made 10 stops.
“This was a great way to close out the season,” Geneseo coach Nick Drollette said. “It’s always a tough game against York and it’s a great contest before sectionals start up. The C2 bracket is so complicated right now that we knew we just needed to control what we can control and by winning we did all that we could.”
The senior Mark leads Geneseo with 11 goals while freshmen Alison Fowler and Madilyn LaDelpha have added nine and eight goals respectively this season. Senior Rachael Matthews has seven goals this season.
Geneseo finishes their regular season 12-3-1.
The Class C2 bracket is the most competitive bracket in Section V with several of the area’s top small school programs competing.
