As NY Governor Kathey Hochul landed in Israel for key meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, personal tragedy struck. Her father, John Courtney, 92, died of a brain hemmorage at his home in Florida.
The death came at an almost fateful moment, Hochul was not only visiting under wartime conditions, but also visiting the sacred “Wailing Wall,” as pictured above.
Forward.com reported that:
“Hochul shed a tear as she placed a note in a crack in the Wall, a tradition. It referenced her father’s passing. She then placed her hand on the limestone and leaned in. She also prayed at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, wearing a Jerusalem cross around her neck.”
