Swift died in the line of duty 50 years ago in Hornell

Family, friends, citizens, and fellow law enforcement gathered in Hornell at noon on Saturday October 28 to remember, and memorialize fallen Hornell Police Sgt. Daniel Swift.
A granite monument bearing Swift’s picture was unveiled to the public amidst all the reverance and respect due to any fallen police officer.
