ERIE, PA. – Bridget McMaster and her Penn State Behrend women’s soccer teammates have been enjoying a tremendous fall season on the pitch.

The 2023 Geneseo High School graduate, is a defensive player for the Lady Lions, who are currently 12-4-1 as they enter the post-season.

After starting their season 1-3, Penn State Behrend has gone 11-1-1 over their past 13 games.

Defensively, McMaster has logged a lot of minutes, sometimes even starting.

Penn State Behrend earned the No. 1 seed for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament thanks to their 7-0 win over Hilbert last week.

They finished 8-0-1 in their conference.

Incredibly, McMaster and her Lady Lions’ teammates head into Wednesday’s semifinal round match-up against Mt. Aloysius riding a seven-game winning streak having outscored their opponents 50-2 during that span.

Head coach Patrick O’Driscoll has been extremely satisfied with Bridget’s play this season.

“We feel really comfortable with her back there, and she has really played some significant minutes for us in some really important games,” O’Driscoll said. “She’s a very hard worker and such a great kid. Her work rate and coachability are off the charts.”

O’Driscoll said his staff recruited Bridget, a former standout midfielder for Geneseo HS, for a year and a half and they are getting exactly what they had hoped for.

“It’s only a two-to-three-month season here so what she has given to us has been a tremendous asset to our program, and we’re hoping for many great years from her in the future,” O’Driscoll added.
