Alfred Police report arrest for felony DWI, assaulting a first responder, after car chase and crash

Angelica man faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges

On 10/28/2023 around 02:35am the Alfred Village Police Department reports the arrest of 41-year-old Justin L Barnes of Angelica NY, following an incident that started on W University Street in the Village of Alfred. Barnes allegedly failed to comply with a lawful order to stop his vehicle, resulting him crashing his vehicle on Water Wells Rd in the Town of Alfred. Barnes was taken into custody at the scene. Following that, Barnes allegedly assaulted a first responder and damaged private property. Barnes was arrested and charged with FelonyDriving while Intoxicated, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, Obstruction Governmental Administration 2nd degree, Assault 3rd degree on a first responder, Criminal Mischief 4th degree, Unlawfully Fleeing from Law Enforcement, Reckless driving and several traffic infractions. Barnes was later released, set to appear in Alfred Village Court on a later date.  

A Rochester NY man was arrested for Grand Larceny

On 10/27/2023 The Alfred Village Police reports the arrest of 18-year-old Paris Horman of Rochester NY , following an investigation into stolen property. Horman was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree (E felony)   and Petit larceny. Horman was processed and released set to appear in Alfred Village Court on a later date.
