VICTOR – Livonia volleyball is just one victory away from Glens Falls when the Lady Bulldogs take on Section VI champion Southwestern in the Far West Regionals Saturday at 10 a.m. at Victor HS.

Livonia enters the game fresh off their sweep over Midlakes, improving to 19-3 on the season.

Southwestern (15-6) advanced to the Far West Regionals following their 28-26, 25-21, 25-23 sweep over Iroquois.

The Lady Trojans also swept Akron (12-4) in the Class B2 title game winning by scores of 25-14, 25-20, 25-9.

The winner will take on the winner of Putnam Valley (Sec. I) and Lansing (Sec. IV) at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls Nov. 18 at 2:45 p.m.

Livonia is led by a strong senior class including Hannah Ingram, Caroline Cendoma, Ava Simmons, Lillie Capecci, Morgan Meys, and Julie Renner.

Ingram was named the Section V Class B tourney MVP with her 15 kills-performance in Livonia’s win over Midlakes.

Cendoma (nine digs, six aces, five kills) and Simmons (12 digs, nine kills, three blocks) were named to the Class B All-Tournament team.

Livonia head coach Kristin Hierlwimmer is excited about Saturday’s contest and says her Lady Bulldogs will be ready.

“We are working hard this week =focusing on serving and offensive plays,” coach Hierlwimmer said. “From what I know, Southwestern has strong blockers. We are preparing for that, as well as strong hits coming from their hitters.
Keeping motivated and on task for a win on Saturday is our goal this week at practice.”
