John Tucker and Stub Hartman partner to create original, hand-painted wooden buckles

By Andrew Harris

Artists of all stripes: We love featuring your work !! This week our old friend John Tucker introduced a whole new concept in art: Hand-painted wooden belt buckles. Each is totally original with scenes that sportsmen and women will love.

The photos below of wood belt buckles painted by John Tucker of Belmont in a joint effort with Stub Hartman of Canisteo. Hartman cuts the wood slices from various hardwoods. Most have a live edge with sanded surface. Tucker paints the piece then Stub applies a thick clear epoxy coating and attaches the buckle hardware. The result is all original artwork you can wear or display. Consider these for gifts for that outdoor lover who already has everything!!
