Hornell Varsity Red Raiders could not keep pace with Warsaw losing 8-6 on Monday

Warsaw got on the board in the top of the second inning after Hornell committed an error, and Cole Liebler singled, each scoring two runs.
Hornell flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on one hit to take a 5-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.
Warsaw took the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Jake McEntire walked, Alex May singled, and Sam Young singled, each scoring one run.
Patrick Klump earned the win for Warsaw. They surrendered three hits and six runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking two.
Pasquale Picco took the loss for Hornell. They went one and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs on zero hits, striking out two and walking three. Andrew Davis opened the game for Hornell. They allowed three hits and five runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking three. Ty Joy earned the save.
Charlie Oyer provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hornell with two runs batted in. The left fielder went 2-for-4 on the day.
Liebler led Warsaw with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-4 on the day. Liebler, Bailey Schell, Young, Connor Joy, and May each collected one hit for Warsaw. Brayden Merritt led Warsaw with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Warsaw turned one double play in the game.
Next up for the (0-3) Red Raiders is a trip to Dansville to face the Mustangs.
