From the Hornell Public Library,

The Hornell Public Library is excited to offer an LGBTQ+ Pride Community Art Class on Saturday, June 8th from 11 AM to 2 PM. This free class will encourage discussions and celebrations of the LGBTQ+ community’s history, experiences, and accomplishments in honor of Pride Month. The class will be led by the teaching artist Nada Odeh, an outstanding artist, humanitarian, modern-day poet, and freelance curator. Come create your own painting or collage celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and have it on display at the library throughout the month of June!

The Hornell Public Library was awarded a 2024 Community Arts Grant from The Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes that has allowed them to offer this unique class. It will give people the chance to support the LGBTQ+ community by working together to inspire and create art that reflects their views as LGBTQ+ members and allies. This is a customized class led by Nada Odeh, who specializes in bringing community members together to discuss critical topics and use art as a tool for change.

This class is open to the public but registration is required since there are limited seats available. Please call the library at 607-324-1210 or email them at hornellpubliclibrary@gmail.com to reserve your spot today.

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

The Hornell Public Library is located at 64 Genesee Street, Hornell, NY.
