Over $30,000 raised for a great cause !

The Bath Rotary Club participated on July 22 in the Camp Star Benefit Golf Tournament, held on the greens of the Indian Hill Golf Course. The local club’s golfers included: Brandi Graham, Past President; Nancy Latour, Secretary; Woody Latour, Friend of Rotary; Jay Maslyn, Treasurer; Cheryl Muller, Youth Services Chair; Eddie VanStine, President-Elect; Kellie and Mike Okoniewski, friends of Graham and Latour.
The men came in four under par, and the ladies were two under par. Several Bath Rotarians had donated door prizes for the tournament. All eight of the golfers expressed that they had a great time not only playing golf but also sharing the experience with other Rotarians. They extend a special thank you to Marianne Kalec, Camp Star Benefit Golf Tournament Chair, for the countless hours she spent organizing and running the very successful event.
The tournament organizers stated that the event, including sponsorships, raised about $30,000 to support Camp Star to be held August 11 – 16 on the scenic and rural setting of The Y at Watson Woods outside of Painted Post.
The cost for the camp is over $700 per camper for six days and nights of fun. The funds, raised from this tournament and the assessment of Rotary District 7120 clubs which support this summer sleepover camp, allow the projected sixty children between the ages of 6 and 12, who have a physical or developmental disability, to attend the camp at no charge to their families. The camp will be staffed by approximately twenty-five counselors and a camp nurse.
