Over 100 pounds of fresh food from the jail garden!

From the Steuben County Sheriff,

Congratulations to the Sheriff’s Correction Staff who teamed up with Trinity Food Services for the best jail garden project yet! This is the tenth year of the jail garden and it has produced more food than ever before. Not only are our incarcerated individuals learning to be food self-sufficient, but they also get the satisfaction of being able to give back to the community through donations to the Corning Area Food Pantry.

Our partners, Trinity Food Services have used the vegetables well, to serve nutritious meals to our population. They recently delivered their first garden harvest donation of the season to the Steuben County Food Pantry too which included:

15# cucumbers

22# green bell peppers

45# zucchini

22# yellow squash

What an amazing start to the harvest season!
