Help local wildlife rehabilitator Madison Reed’s mission

By Andrew Harris, pictured are recent success stories

Haven’t we all found a injured or baby wildlife that our instincts tell us to help? What if you found a deceased mother rabbit with her babies still with her?

The interface between we humans and the wildlife surrounding us often includes tragedy and without much help available. For years, residents of the “Allegany County Wilds,” had just one local licensed wildlife rehabilitation option. That has recently changed with “Life on the Wildside,” founded by Madison Reed of Belmont NY.

You may have read the story about her new wildlife rehabilitation operation in our previous reporting. If not, please use the link above to get up to speed.

The story today is about this Sunday in Belmont. Reed is hosting her first major fundraising and awareness event at the Belmont Conservation Club from 12-4pm. The day will include a host of vendors as you can see from the list below. From art to food to local forest rangers, this will be a great day to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The music, the food, face painting, caricatures, and crafts will be great. There will be bounce houses for the little humans, a photo booth, and a big basket raffle!! Check out some of the possible wins:

If you love the natural world around us and want to support a great new effort to help wildlife in need, stop at the Belmont Conservation Club this Sunday from noon until 4pm
