The HHS Sports Hall of Fame selection committee is pleased to announce the names of the 2024 inductees. The inductees for 2024 include:

The 2024 inductees will be recognized at half time of the HHS Football game on Friday September 20, 2024. There will be a gathering at the G. Carducci Lodge immediately following the football game. All are welcome to attend. This year’s inductees will also be honored at the annual HHS Sports Hall of Fame induction dinner to be held on Saturday September 21, 2024 at the Main Place in Hornell. This event begins with a reception at 5:00 pm with dinner and induction ceremonies to follow. Tickets for the induction dinner are $30 per person. Meet the future Hall of Famers!!
Jocelyn Acor graduated from Hornell High School in 2014. During her time at HHS, she earned 13 varsity letters in track, soccer, basketball and one in softball. Her most notable sports being soccer and track. She was a member of 3 Section V Championship teams one for track and two for soccer. She also earned 9 individual Section V Championships in track.
In 2010, as an 8th grader she placed 1st in the 800 meter run at the Twin Tier Invitational. At Wellsville Spring Day she placed 1st in the 200 and 400 meter runs. She was LCAA invitational champion in the 200, 400, and 800 meter runs and was a part of the winning 1600 meter relay. She was Class B Sectionals champion in the 400 meter dash and co-champ in the 100 meter dash. At the State Qualifier meet, she finished 1st in the 400 meter dash and 2nd in the 100 meter dash. Her first year attending the State Meet, she placed 8th in the 100 meter dash and 4th in the 400 meter dash.
In 2011, at the Twin Tier Invitational she placed 1st in the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes. At the Fred Stenta Invitational, she placed 1st in the 100, 200 and was a part of the winning 400 meter relay team. At Wellsville Spring Day, she placed 1st in the 100, 200, and 400 was also the invitational MVP. She was LCAA invitational champion in the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes. Jocelyn was Class B Sectionals champion in the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes. At the State Qualifier meet, she placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash, 2nd in the 200 meter dash, and 1st in the 400 meter dash. At the State Meet, she placed 8th in the 100 meter dash, 4th in the 400 meter dash and was a part of the 400 meter relay that placed 6th.

At the Hornell Invitational she was named Meet Outstanding Performer with 1st place finishes in the 100, 200, and was a part of the winning 400 meter relay team. At Wellsville Spring Day she placed 1st in the 100 meter dash, 2nd place in the 2000 meter steeplechase, 2nd in high jump and was a part of the 400 meter relay that finished 2nd. She was LCAA Invitational champion in the 100 and a part of the 400 meter relay that took 1st place. Jocelyn was Class B Sectionals champion in the 100 and 200 meter dashes and took 3rd in the high jump. At the State Qualifier Meet she placed 4th in the 100 meter dash and 2nd in the 200 meter dash. At the State Meet she placed 7th in the 200 meter dash.

At the Hornell Invitational she placed 1st in the 100, and was a part of the winning 400 meter relay as well as a 2nd place finish in the high jump. At Wellsville Spring Day she placed 1st in the 100 meter dash and high jump with a 4th place finish in the 2000 meter steeplechase. She was Class B Sectionals champion in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. At the State Qualifier Meet she placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash and 1st place in the 200 meter dash with her best State finals finish coming in her final year with 2nd place in the 200 meter dash. In 2014, she was the Section V Class B1 meet record holder in the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes. She currently holds the school records in the 100 and 200 meter dashes as well as the records for the 100 and 200 at the Wellsville Spring Day Invitational.
In soccer Jocelyn was Livingston County All Star 1st team selection, was a 1st team All Greater Rochester Selection 2 years in a row and 2nd team All-State selection in 2013 when she helped her team get to the Class B New York State Semifinals. She holds the school record for most goals scored in a season at 35 goals ending her career with a total of 79 goals. In her senior year, Jocelyn was awarded the Debbie Vanscoter Award for the top female athlete at Hornell High School. In 2020, Jocelyn was selected to the Section V Girls Soccer All-Decade team (2010-2019). Upon graduating in 2014, Jocelyn went on to attend Binghamton University where she continued playing soccer at the Division 1 level. She played in 16 games and scored 5 goals. After finishing school, Jocelyn moved back to Hornell and is currently employed by the United States Postal Service.
Julian Reinhart graduated from Hornell High School in 2013, earning 6 varsity letters in football and basketball. He was a member of one Sectional Champion basketball team, three Sectional Champion football teams, two State Champion football teams, and one runner up State Champion football team.
Julian played three years of varsity football and served as a team captain his senior year. On offense, Reinhart had 63 career receptions for 1,059 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 38 career rushes for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a cornerback, Julian recorded 126 career tackles, 10 interceptions with 1 being returned for a touchdown. Reinhart was named 1st Team Livingston County All Star as a senior. He also earned Most Valuable Offensive Player of the State Quarterfinal Game and Most Valuable Defensive Player of the State Semifinal Game as a senior.
Julian played three years of varsity basketball and served as a team captain his junior and senior years. He was a part of the Livingston County Division 1 and Section V Class B Championship team as a senior. He was named 1st Team Livingston County All-Star as a junior and senior, Spectator 8 Player of the Year as a senior, and 6th team All-State for Class B as a senior.
After high school, Julian attended Alfred University where he would continue his basketball career and major in accounting. Reinhart played four years, and served as team captain for two years. As a starter his Sophomore year Julian helped lead AU to a 19-8 record and a runner up finish at the Empire 8 Men’s Basketball Championship while averaging 8 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Saxons. As a junior Reinhart averaged 12.3 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game in his best season at AU and was voted MVP by his teammates as a junior. While at AU Reinhart started 58 out of 103 games, scored 752 points, pulled down 367 rebounds, and recorded 160 career assists. Julian graduated in 2017 from Alfred University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and in 2019 with a Master of Business Administration Focused in Accounting.
Julian is the son of Michelle and Joseph Reinhart Sr. and brother to Joseph Reinhart Jr. and Selena Maldonado. He resides in Hornell, NY and works as a Project Control Analyst for CHBWV in West Valley, NY. Julian is very honored to share a spot in the Hornell High School Hall of Fame with his Aunt Dawn Reinhart, a member of the 2007 Hornell High School Hall of Fame induction class.
Richie Harkenrider graduated Hornell High School in 2013, earning 8 Varsity letters in Football (3), Baseball (4) and Wrestling (1). He was a member of two Football State Championship Teams and one runner up. He played a huge roll on both sides of the ball, as both Quarterback and Defensive back. Not only did he excel in football but also baseball, winning one sectional championship along the way, Richie was a four-year starter on the varsity baseball team.
During Richie’s High School Football career, he received multiple awards and achievements.
In 2011, he was awarded the Section V&VI Regional Class B Most Valuable Defensive Player. He received that same exact award for the NYSPHSAA Semi-Finals Class B game. He was selected as member of 2011 NYSSWA All-State Football, Class B second team defense. Richie led the 2011 state championship team as a junior in multiple categories on defense. He led the team defensive tackles(91), sacks (9) and forced fumbles (2) to help continue their historic run.
In 2012 during Richie’s senior season he received Section V Class C Most Valuable defensive back. He was selected for NYS 1st Team All-State Class C defense and LCAA Football All-Stars 1st Team. On the offensive side of the ball, Richie had a record setting year. He achieved Hornell’s single season touchdown record with 24 touchdowns along with the single season passing yards with 1,584 yards.
When football season was over he made his way to the baseball diamond. Richie thrived when he was on the pitcher’s mound with a career record of 12-2 with his only two losses coming as a sophomore (4-2). He was 5-0 as a junior and 3-0 as a senior with his season being cut short due to injury. He racked up a total of 131 strike outs with an ERA of 1.17 along with two no hitters and a multiple one hit games throughout his career. He was a member of the 2011 Section V, Class BB Championship team and was selected as member of the 2012 LCAA Baseball All-Stars Division 1 team.
After high school, Richie continued his baseball career at the Collegiate level as a member of the 2013-2016 Cortland Red Dragons, winning a Division III National Championship with The Cortland Red Dragons in 2015. He was also a member of the 2014 Hornell Dodgers (Steamers) Collegiate baseball team. While at Cortland, Richie made the Dean’s list and was awarded the Anthony P Tesori Award for Student Teaching. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science and Education Degree from the State University of New York at Cortland.
After graduating from Cortland Richie taught Physical Education & Health at Canisteo-Greenwood CSD from 2017-2019, where he was head coach for the Modified Basketball, Football and Varsity
Baseball teams. He coached the Hornell Raiders Cooperstown Baseball Travel team from 2017-2020 alongside his father Bill.
Richie currently resides in Canisteo, NY and is employed with Stonerock Tree Service LLC and FreshAmerican Hops LLC. He is the son of Bill and Nikki Harkenrider and younger brother to Zachery Harkenrider.
Richie is very honored to share a Hall of Fame spot with his late Grandfather Robert Flaitz Sr. 54’ whowas a member of the first HHS Hall of fame Inductees Class of 1988. His grandfather was one of his biggest supporters. He also shares a spot with his late Great Uncle’s Jake Flaitz 51’, Joe Piccirillo 46’ HOF Class of 1993, cousin, Linda Piccirillo-Hinckley 68’ HOF Class of 2002 and his late cousin Andy Flaitz 80’ HOF Class of 2006.
Samuel Stonerock is a 2011 graduate of Hornell High School, who excelled in football, baseball and track. Sam is best known for his accomplishments on the football field where he played full back, running back and outside linebacker for the Hornell Red Raiders in 2009 and 2010.
Sam helped lead his team to two State titles in 2009 and 2010 with two 13-0 undefeated seasons. Sam was awarded Livingston County All Star 1st team in 2009 and 2010 as well as most valuable Defensive player award for the regional playoff game against Cheektowaga and the semi-final game against Westhill in 2009. Sam ended his 2009 season with 88 tackles and 9 sacks as an outside linebacker, while running for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns as a fullback.
During his senior year, he was awarded 1st Team All State, and player of the year awards for both sides of the football, including the Section V Defensive player of the Year for Class B, and Offensive State Player of the Year for Class B. Sam also received Most valuable offensive player awards in the regional playoff game against Alden, the semi-final game against Chenango Valley, and the state championship game against Schalmont in the 2010 season. Sam also played in the Upstate vs Downstate all-star game held at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. Sam ended his 2010 season with 98 tackles, 12 sacks and 1 interception as an outside linebacker, while also rushing for 2,010 yards and 30 touchdowns as a running back.
After graduation, Sam attended Morrisville State College to pursue a degree in Natural Resource Conservation and Renewable Resources. He also played one year of football, where he started as a running back for the Morrisville Mustangs. Sam now lives in Dansville with his wife Alexandra (Hanrahan) Stonerock and their two children Henry and Cali Mae. Sam is the proud owner of a local residential tree service, Stonerock Tree, LLC, servicing Hornell, Dansville and surrounding communities.
Nick Ripple is a 2000 HHS graduate who competed in basketball, soccer, and track and field. He played on the JV and Varsity soccer team for 4 years and after years of playing AAU basketball in the spring, joined Varsity track and field as a senior where he was a frequent point contributor at meets. He placed 6th in sectionals in the triple jump and was part of a 4x100m relay team that went to the state finals.
A majority of Nick’s athletic success came on the hardwood where he played 3 years on the Varsity basketball team with an overall record of 48-12. After his first 2 years playing with two other hall of famers and 1,000 point scorers (Brian Young ‘98 and Kyle Johnson ‘99), Nick stepped into the lead role in his senior year where he averaged 20.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, scoring a double-double in 22 games that season. He helped take the Red Raiders to the Section V finals that year, where he was named an All Tournament All Star. After making the Spectator Great Eight second team as a junior, he was awarded Great Eight MVP as a senior. His dominance on the court also earned him Livingston County Player of the Year honors, made All-Leader 1st team, was invited to play in the Ronald McDonald All-Star game, and finished his career with 946 points.
At the conclusion of his senior year as a three sport athlete, Nick was granted the Evening Tribune Award for athlete of the year for his class.
Following high school, Nick went on to play 4 years of basketball for St. John Fisher College, starting for the Cardinals in 3 of those years and a team captain for 2. He helped the Cardinals win the Empire 8 Conference championship 3 different years, earning their way into the NCAA Division III tournament those seasons. Nick was named as an Empire 8 Conference 2nd team all-star one year and honorable mention two other years. He was the Rochester D&C Spotlight Player of the Week in his junior year after scoring 35 points in a home tournament game. In his career at St. John Fisher, Nick scored over 900 points and was ranked as one of the top shot blockers in the school’s history.
Nick currently resides in Lima, NY with his wife and 3 children, teaching 6th grade science and coaching in Livonia.
