GALLERY: Hornell boys soccer shuts out Geneseo to continue undefeated

The Hornell Red Raiders hosted the Geneseo Blue Devils Friday night.  The Red Raiders improve to 6-0-1 after a big 6-0 shutout win over the visiting Blue Devils.

The Raiders got on the board early, nine minutes into the game, when PJ Picco crossed to Gabriel Rasephei to put Hornell up 1-0, the lone goal in the first half.

The Raiders came out strong after halftime when Gabriel Rasepehi scored his second goal of the night off an assist by Wyatt Evingham after just 3 minutes of play.  

Hornell’s unselfishness and impressive passing game led to 4 more goals on the night. 

Junior goalkeeper, Alfie Whiteley put in another sound performance for Hornell and earned another shutout win. Hornell’s defense, consisting of Demayne Dixon, Kellen Crowe, Ryan Harkenrider, and Cody Cardamone held the Blue Devils to just one shot on goal. 

Gabriel Rasepehi scored two goals for Hornell. Also scoring were Wyatt Evingham, Carson Pollizi, Aquiles Souza, and Marco Picco.

PJ Picco had 3 assists on the night. Wyatt Evingham had 2 assists, and Cody Cardamone had 1 assist.

Hornell’s next contest will be a “Match-up of the Undefeateds” when they travel to Livonia and face their LCAA D1 rivals next Thursday night. Their last face-off ended in a 1-1 draw. Hornell is currently seeded #2 in Section V Class B, while Livonia is the #1 seed.
