North Hornell Police Department continues to benefit from grant funding

Edward Byrne Memorial JAG grant will update patrol car

From the North Hornell Police Department,

In September of 2024 the Village of North Hornell Police Department received funding from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount of $19,500.00 to support the purchasing of a new car radio unit, new radar unit, new laptop computer and mounting station, a weapon box, a new barcode scanner and car printer for their new 2024 Ford Explorer that was recently received off a grant in June for the North Hornell School Resource Officer.

Chief Kyle Amidon explains this grant is the latest in funding recieved during 2024:

“This is the 4th grant received by the department over the past 6 months in a grand total amount of almost $150,000 in grant funding to support the needs and equipment upgrades of the Village of North Hornell Police Department and the Village of North Hornell.”

The Village of North Hornell and the North Hornell Police Department are thankful for these grant funds and will continue to search and execute grant opportunities to assist with taxpayer savings.
