Michaela Rossettie Azemi Issues Statement Following Steuben County and Family Court Judge Race
November 5, 2024 – On a phone call with her opponent, Michaela Rossettie Azemi congratulated Matthew McCarthy on winning this year’s race for Steuben County and Family Court Judge.
Rossettie Azemi spent the final day of her campaign for Steuben County and Family Court Judge touring the county, visiting small businesses and community centers from Corning to Hornell. She spent time talking with voters, meeting entrepreneurs and business owners, and sharing information about her inspiration for running the campaign.
“Today I had the opportunity to visit Hornell, Canisteo, Bath, Hammondsport, Corning, Painted Post, and other communities throughout Steuben County – just as I have been doing since July,” said Rossettie Azemi. “It’s been such a privilege to meet so many people during my campaign, and it reinforced my dedication to giving back to the place where I grew up.”
Soon after she announced her candidacy, Steuben County faced severe flooding and the challenges that followed. Rossettie Azemi spent several weeks helping with disaster recovery efforts, even bringing her oldest son along for some of the relief efforts.
“My family has been behind me every step of the way, and we were proud to serve the community together. It was a great opportunity for my husband and me to show our kids the importance of philanthropy.”
Since the beginning of her law career, Rossettie Azemi has dedicated herself to pro bono lawyering and education. She has consistently represented individuals who would not have otherwise been able to afford their own attorneys, providing opportunities to underserved and underrepresented populations throughout the Southern Tier.
“This campaign was another chance for me to give back to my community, and I intend to continue doing that every chance I get,” added Rossettie Azemi.
