Keep Phillips Creek, Palmer’s Pond, and Turnpike State Forest trails accessible and safe
From IMPACT,
Friends Improving Allegany County Trails, Inc. (IMPACT) is raising funds to purchase materials for local trail improvement projects on the West Almond Trail System (Phillips Creek, Palmer’s Pond and Turnpike State Forest).
“Giving Tuesday” is scheduled for December 3, 2024. This is a global annual event to help support your favorite charity. IMPACT: Friends Improving Allegany County Trails, Inc. was formed in 2021 to improve, maintain, and advocate for public trails in Allegany County, New York. They have been actively organizing volunteer maintenance days, have received grants for trail improvements, and continue to improve trail conditions on the 29-mile West Almond Trail System.
Improving drainage conditions on these multi-use trails benefits all users, from hikers to equestrians and cross-country skiers. The cost to purchase materials, such as filter fabric, stone, gravel and culverts is expensive. IMPACT has applied for a grant from Parks &Trails New York to improve the Trail 3 loop on the West Almond Trail System. However, this requires raising community matching funds.
To meet this need, IMPACT has registered to accept monetary donations on “Giving Tuesday”. If you are interested in participating in this worthwhile effort to improve local trails and increase recreational tourism opportunities, please donate through our website: www.impactfriendsgroup.org. Checks can be sent to IMPACT, 2444 State Route 244, Belmont, NY 14813. IMPACT is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
