Senior Spotlights:

Hornell celebrated their 5 seniors before the start of the game.  Coach Scholes reflected on each of his seniors.

Aaron “Mac” McInerney #12

“Mac is a 3 year varsity player and team captain.  He’s been incredibly valuable to us over the years becuase of his shooting and communication on defense.  He’s our best communicator, and it’s not even close.  The biggest thing I enjoy about Aaron is how much he loves helping the younger kids at the YMCA.  I’m going to miss his shooting, his communication defensively, and his leadership.”

Pasquale “PJ” Picco #11

“PJ is a 4 year varsity player.  He’s a captain and one of the most versatile players I’ve ever coached.  He can dribble and pass like a point guard, shoot the big three like a wing, and can post up like a big.  Whatever the team needed, he just did.  He’s been a Livingston County All-Star, made the All Tournament team in Class B2, and won numerous other awards over his career.  I’m going to miss his skill, basketball IQ, and versatility.”

Austyn “AG” Gollnitz #10

“AG is a captain and a kid that improved so much this year.  After not having much of a season last year due to a broken leg, it is awesomet o see how much he’s gronw this year.  He’s a force for us on the inside.  He’s like a pogo stick off the floor.  He’s incredibly athletic and so unselfish.  I’m going to miss his athleticism, toughness, and willingness to learn and be coached.”

Quinn Mauro #5

“Quinn is a 3 year varsity player and team captain.  He came up big down the stretch his junior season.  He became a gritty player that enjoyed the defensive end of the court.  He also knocked down some big shots.  An injury has caused him to miss most of this season, but the think I like about Quinn is he always works hard and enjoyed the process of getting better.  I’m going to miss his work ethic, defensive intensity, and shooting ability.”

Lucas Hancock – Team Manager

“Lucas is our team manager, and he’s been exceptional in every way.  He comes to practice every day understanding that he has a job and role on the team.  He’s willing to help with anything and awesome to have on the bench, and he’s exceptionally smart.  He’s a great kid who is funny, sarcastic, and team oriented.  He’s been a huge help to the coaching staff, and we are grateful to have him with us.”
