Custom apparel team showcases products and services
From the Arc Allegany-Steuben
Bath, NY – The Arc Allegany-Steuben is proud to announce that its Stitched Ink team participated in the New York State Parks and the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) “Get Out and Get Together” event, held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Tunkhannock State Park.
This annual event celebrates inclusion, accessibility, and the empowerment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in outdoor spaces. Stitched Ink, a vocational enterprise of The Arc Allegany-Steuben, proudly showcased its custom apparel products and services to hundreds of attendees, including state agency representatives, local organizations, and families from across the region.
Stitched Ink is a growing social enterprise that provides high-quality custom apparel for a variety of clients, including several New York State agencies and New York State Parks. The team also partners with the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce to support their “Visit Ithaca” tourism campaign through branded merchandise. Every item produced by Stitched Ink represents not only local craftsmanship, but also meaningful employment and skill development for individuals with I/DD.
“We were honored to be part of such an inclusive and energizing event,” said Mike Damiano, Executive Director of The Arc Allegany-Steuben. “Our Stitched Ink team was able to share their talent, connect with new partners, and demonstrate the value of community-integrated employment. Events like this remind us that everyone belongs—especially in our parks, workplaces, and local economies.”
Participation in the “Get Out and Get Together” event was made possible through generous funding from The Arc of Steuben Foundation, which supports innovative programs and opportunities that enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities throughout Allegany and Steuben counties.
