Local, state, and federal officials are investigating a deadly plane crash that occurred Friday evening in Steuben County.
Emergency responders were called shortly after 7 p.m. following reports of an aircraft down in Hornellsville. According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved a small plane and resulted in one confirmed fatality. Federal investigators are expected to conduct a detailed examination of the crash site.
Officials have not released the type of aircraft involved, the point of departure, or its intended destination. The Hornell Municipal Airport, located about six miles north of the crash site, remains under consideration as part of the ongoing investigation.
