Raiders roll the Mustangs: Hornell – 9; Dansville – 1

After a shutout win over the Wellsville Lions last week, the Hornell Red Raiders traveled to Dansville for an LCAA D1 matchup with the Mustangs Monday night. The Red Raiders (2-0-0) put forth another strong offensive effort led by senior Wyatt Evingham, who scored 4 goals and added 2 assists in the 9-1 win.
Evingham got things started with Hornell’s first goal at 31:21 off an assist from Aquiles Souza. The second Red Raider goal was scored less than a minute later, Demayne Dixon scored a deep shot from the 20 yard line. Hornell was up 6-0 at halftime and scored 3 more goals in the second half.
In addition to Evingham, senior Gabriel Rasephei scored 2 goals for the Raiders. Also scoring were Jayden Rasephei & Marco Picco. Evingham and Anatole Colson each tallied two assists for Hornell, and Aquiles Souza, Nick Gray, Marco Picco, & Jayden Rasephei added one assist apiece.
Dansville goalkeeper, Sean Everett had 10 saves for the Mustangs. Isaac Kurtz scored the lone goal for Dansville.
Hornell will host Bishop-Kearney in the home opener tonight (Tuesday, September 9th) at Maple City Park. Bishop Kearney comes into tonight’s game with a record of 2-1-0. The game is schedued to start at 6PM.
