Register by March 24 to make a public statement

From the NYS Public Service Commission,

To ensure full public participation, the New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) will hold virtual public statement hearings on March 25, 2026, to solicit input and comments from your community regarding the Commission’s annual Broadband study and map. Each hearing will be preceded by a brief informational session at which Department of Public Service staff will outline the information gathering process.
On April 16, 2021, New York enacted the Comprehensive Broadband Connectivity Act, which directed the Commission to prepare an annual study of the availability, reliability, and cost of high-speed broadband service in New York State. The Commission has released its interactive broadband map and annual reports in June from 2022 through 2025.

In preparation for the 2026 map and report, the Commission invites public comment regarding the availability, affordability, and adoption of broadband internet access across the state. The purpose of the study is to ensure that all New Yorkers have the necessary access to affordable broadband service.
The Commission would like to hear from the public about:Locations where broadband service with at least 25 megabits per second (Mbps) downstream and 1 Mbps upstream is not available as well as barriers that limit broadband availability.Locations where the offered download speed is greater than 25 Mbps but less than 100 Mbps downstream.Locations where there is only one broadband internet service provider; andLocations where broadband internet service is too costly for some consumers or businesses, and the size of the cost barriers.
