“This is going to look different, but it won’t be a complete closure”
To our amazing community,
It is with heavy hearts that we report that our budget vote today failed 208 to 546.
This will unfortunately result in reductions to programs and services, among other things. With that in mind, we choose to look on the bright side.
In less than three hours this year, we received more votes than we have in the last three years. So much of our community, on both sides of the table, came out today to represent and cast their votes. Though it was not in our favor, we must say how proud we are of our community for their civic involvement and sense of community in that regard.
Despite these results, the library will continue to offer the very best it can with the funds it has. This is going to look different, but it won’t be a complete closure. Thank you to everyone who cast a vote, and we hope to see you all for the next budget vote.
