Caleb V. Middaugh, 18, Wellsville

Caleb V. Middaugh, 18, passed away on Friday (July 10, 2026) at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness.

Caleb was born on December 14, 2007 in Wellsville to Keith Middaugh and Sara Shaver. Caleb recently graduated from Wellsville Central School on June 26, 2026.

Caleb is survived by his mother, Sara (Aiden Heffley) Shaver of Wellsville; his father, Keith (Kim Sherlock) Middaugh of Scio; his grandparents, Sara Geshwind of Tuscon, Ariz. Connie Middaugh of Scio and Jeffrey (Nichole Price) Carl of Wellsville; eight siblings, Leah (Mike Williams) Middaugh of Lockport, Cloey Middaugh of Wellsville and Keagan Sherlock, Lacy Sherlock, Zack Sherlock-Middaugh, Ruby Middaugh, Isaiah Middaugh and Elijah Middaugh, all of Scio; his aunts and uncles, Aretha (Shahin) Soulat, Jeffrey Carl, Jr., Brandon (Valerie) Carl, Allison (Daniel Fanton) Carl and Spencer Carl; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Linden Geshwind and Vince Middaugh and his Uncle Nathan Shaver. Caleb enjoyed playing video games and was  a big Nintendo fan. He had a passion for media and excelled in his BOCES Media Class under Steve Pettenati.

Caleb loved music; music of any kind. He loved singing and dancing and participated in the Wellsville Central School Chorus. He loved making people laugh and he loved anything pizza. Finally, Caleb loved collecting and had quite a variety of Disney collectables including Lilo and Stitch and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Caleb’s favorite times with his mom were the Rochester trips to Dave & Buster’s, weekend movies to Olean or the quiet walks around home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday (July 18) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Wellsville/Scio. The funeral service will be on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Pavel Boyuk of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar.
