WELLSVILLE, NY — The Arc Allegany-Steuben is inviting community members, supporters, and advocates to participate in Give 716, a regional online giving event that helps nonprofit organizations raise funds to support their missions and strengthen local communities.

Beginning at 7:16 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, and continuing through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, supporters can make online donations to benefit The Arc Allegany-Steuben and the people and families it serves throughout Allegany and Steuben counties.

The Arc Allegany-Steuben offers a wide variety of supports and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout Allegany and Steuben counties. Guided by its mission and vision, the organization empowers people to pursue meaningful lives with choice, dignity, and independence.

Among its many programs, Green Machine Athletics stands out as a growing and impactful sports initiative for children ages 8 and older and adults with disabilities. Green Machine Athletics provides year-round training and competition opportunities throughout Allegany and Steuben counties, offering structured practices, skill development, and team-based experiences in a supportive and inclusive environment. Athletes participate in basketball, bocce, bowling, track and field, dance, and softball, and compete in local, regional, and state-level events through Special Olympics New York. The program is centered on inclusion, teamwork, and personal growth, helping participants build confidence, develop lifelong skills, and form meaningful friendships while experiencing the excitement of competition.

Funds raised during Give 716 will directly support programs like Green Machine Athletics, helping expand opportunities for athletes, strengthen training and competition experiences, and ensure more people have access to inclusive recreational programming that promotes health, independence, and community connection.

Throughout the 28-hour giving event, donors will have multiple opportunities to amplify the impact of their contributions through matching challenges, incentive grants, and special prize drawings offered at various points during Give 716. Donors may also become eligible for a variety of giveaways, including tickets to the Buffalo Bandits, Buffalo Bisons, and Buffalo Sabres, as well as a Beer Sabre sponsored by Delaware North.

Featured incentive opportunities will be available at select times during the event. At 4 p.m. on July 16, the first 300 donors who contribute $71.60 or more will be eligible to receive a limited-edition New Era Give 716 cap, available while supplies last.

During the final hours of Give 716, beginning at 8 p.m. on July 16 and continuing through 11:59 p.m., donors who contribute $50 or more will be eligible for Golden Ticket drawings. Featured prizes include commemorative pendants celebrating Buffalo sports history, including the Buffalo Bills regular season, a Buffalo Sabres playoff season, and a Buffalo Bandits pendant.

“Every donation, regardless of size, helps create opportunities for the people we support,” said Paula Bernstein, Development Director for The Arc Allegany-Steuben. “Give 716 is a chance for our community to come together and invest in programs like Green Machine Athletics that give people the opportunity to grow, compete, and thrive. Every gift helps ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have access to meaningful experiences that build confidence, independence, and connection.”

Donors can make secure online contributions during the 28-hour event. Whether giving $5, $50, or more, every gift helps advance The Arc Allegany-Steuben’s mission of supporting and respecting people’s choices on their journey to independence.

Community members are encouraged to spread the word, share the campaign with friends and family, and join in making a lasting difference for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the region.
