June M. Kenyon, affectionately known as “June Bug” formerly of Almond, NY passed away on August 6, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
June was born in Springville, NY on January 12, 1952, and was the oldest daughter of the late Harlan & Mary (Almeter) Foote. June is survived by her six siblings John (Jean) Foote of Pike, George (Judy) Foote of Gainesville, Jane Roberts of Alvarado, TX, Janet (Jim) Hadden of Cuba, Judy (Les) Todd of Warsaw, and Jeff (Tina) Foote of Mt. Morris.
In addition to her siblings June is survived by her five children, Dan (Anne) Mitchell of Portville, Sharon Goldsmith (Tom Brown) of Cuba, Peg (Tom) Burdick of Andover, Jen Crowe of Eden, and Laura (Elizabeth) Kenyon of Allentown and three step-children Vickie (Chuck) Wolfer of Freedom, EJ (Wendy) Kenyon of Venetta, OR, and Scott (Jodi) Kenyon of Perry. June is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband John Kenyon, her parents, and brother-in-law Mert Roberts.
June spent her early years in Bliss and always enjoyed living in small towns. She was a proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing (especially Grammie jammies and wedding quilts), a variety of crafts, raising sheep and other animals, gardening, music, and travel. In addition to her family, June was very proud of her long career as the rural mail carrier for the town of Almond retiring in December of 2012.
As per June’s final wishes a short committal service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Weathersfield (Smith’s Corners) cemetery. Pastor William Beck from the United Church of Friendship will officiate. A light lunch will follow at the Emerald (Connect 55) in Warsaw.
June’s family will forever be grateful to the doctors at the University of Rochester’s Memory Care Clinic for their assistance with her diagnosis and for their social workers’ assistance navigating her care plan. Additionally, we’d like to thank the staff at The Cloisters assisted living community and the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility both in Warsaw, NY. The level of concern, attention, and respect they provided did not go unnoticed. We are forever grateful for the patience and dignity she was shown while in their care.
